Dana was embarrassed when she realized how much money she had basically thrown away by living in rental properties for so many years. She was resigned to buying a house and she set herself a time limit to find a house to start the process. She started by checking ads online but she didn’t know if this was the most efficient way to use her time. She called a realtor to get an informed view point. Unfortunately, the agent she called wasn’t available. Fortunately, her call was answered by a real estate answering service. Dana had no idea that this specialized service did much more than answer calls and take messages to pass on to realtors. The operators knew quite a bit about the basics of real estate and courteously answered what questions they could and took messages for the ones they couldn’t. She hoped that the rest of her home buying experience would be as pleasant.
